Contop GmbH was established 1994 in Salzburg and has positioned itself as "the Alternative" on the market right from the beginning. Till this day it remained true to this attribute - seeking after individual, innovative and specialized solutions for the customers.

After the development of European Groupage-Services, the cadre for Warehouse & Logistic-Services was provided by the take-over of the terminal in Salzburg-Bergheim. In 2001 the branch office in Cividale was opened whereby the upgrading of the Eastern European Railway-Services was compounded. After a strong expansion period, during which the development of the Rent-a-store service was established, Contop Salzburg opened an own daughter company in Olomouc/Czech Republic in 2006.

Further expansions of the division warehousing & logistics and various other specialisations in the European Road-Traffic section are scheduled for 2007.

The company is still in private property and remains a service provider with core-values and an individual and specialized identity in spite of its international orientation and expansion.
